About Andy Hawkings

Hi, I’m Andy Hawkings, a passionate musician, educator, and innovator dedicated to making music education accessible and enjoyable for everyone. I’m the creator of Numbiano, a revolutionary musical system designed to simplify music theory and performance, helping learners of all ages connect more deeply with music.

I’m a qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and currently teach music at Avanti Park School in Frome. In addition to my classroom teaching, I work as a peripatetic guitar teacher, preparing students for both Trinity College London classical guitar exams and Rockschool’s popular music exams. It’s incredibly rewarding to help students achieve their goals and develop their musical talents.

I’m also proud to be the co-founder of Rocktopus, the UK’s leading provider of interactive, music-based educational experiences for schools and families. For over a decade, we’ve been using music to inspire creativity, foster learning, and bring communities together in meaningful ways.

As a TEDx speaker, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my ideas about music, education, and creativity with a global audience. These experiences have deepened my commitment to empowering others through the transformative power of music.

Recently, I’ve started a blog to share my journey, ideas, and insights on music education, creativity, and innovation. Through my writing, I aim to connect with like-minded individuals, spark meaningful conversations, and inspire others to explore the joy of music.

Whether I’m teaching guitar, leading workshops, giving talks, or developing new educational tools, my mission is to inspire and empower people through the universal language of music.
